I built an entire program & canned it before launch

I'm not sure if you know this or not, but prior to pivoting down the path Chromatical is on now, I had pivoted in a VERY different direction.

Still at my ability energy wise, but a different niche, audience, and offer.

And I had built EVERYTHING for it.

  • I'd invested so much time and money in creating it.

  • I had trademarks in place

  • I had a waitlist of eager people ready to join

  • I had physical elements to send to members designed and made

  • I had built the entire beta membership ready to sell

  • I'd built, launched & promoted an entire community around it as a big part of the marketing strategy

  • All I needed to do was build the launch material (in the same launch style I do and teach, that is kind to your energy)

But I canned it ALL 😳

And I recorded an entire podcast episode about it!

The thing is... It was not a waste at all.

I needed to have done all of that.

And in this  episode  I go deep into why that was so.

When I figured out my new direction that was nothing like the original idea I'd already built and scrapped,

I had a decision to make.

1. Stay doing what I'd already built because i'd invested so much time, energy, money, and work into it?

2. Or ditch it for the new idea and take on the new opportunity.

I want to show you why it can sometimes be good to leave things in the past and move on, instead of sticking to something just because you've put lots of time, money or energy into something.

See, the purpose of starting that thing, doing that thing for a short while, or doing that thing for years, may not have been intended for you to do it for ever.

You may have just had to get some sort of learning or other purpose out of whatever it was. It may never have been intended to be the forever thing.

It may have had a purpose that was there to allow you to grow or explore what was needed to open the doors to the next path.

For me, building the new membership I had scrapped, I got SO MUCH out of that. SO MUCH.

Scrapping it was exactly what I had to do. That was the end of that for me. I got everything I had to out of it. I didn't need to sell it and run it to make all that work worth it. It was worth it by just doing the creation process.

Everything we do is a steppingstone needed to bridge the gap between where you are to where you are going.

I cant wait to share this episode with you.

It's a bit of a perspective shift that I hope will help you see the things you do in business differently.

Because that original idea I scrapped was the BEST thing ever and it served all the time it needed to with me.

I hope when you listen to this podcast episode (It's only about 20 mins long) You realise that you aren’t ever at the final destination. And that is a GOOD thing. But if you don't stay open to opportunities, and stick to what you are doing solely because you've put so much into it, you could be limiting yourself in a big way.

Not doing, what I'd spent so long building wasn't a waste, it didn't set me back, it got me closer to where I wanted to go.

I also hope you take out of this episode (even though I don't directly say this) that you aren't a hero from sticking to what you're doing. (Though you totally can if it's right for you - I'm not telling you to change. I'm just giving you permission to if you're feeling it.)

So just know, if something is feeling off, or a better opportunity presents itself, you don't get a long service award in business for sticking to the same thing forever. Be smart, make calculated risks, and trust your gut!

Moving and changing in business, and being open to new opportunities (strategically and in a smart calculated way) is what helps you grow. Nothing is a waste. It might have just been exactly what you needed to get you where you are now. And that's all you needed from it.

Once you're finished listening to this episode, if you haven't already, listen to the one I shared before this. It's the most important episode I've ever shared that I hope has a huge impact on how you run your business.
