What tech makes Chromatical work?

A BUCKET load of incredible, innovative and ‘can’t-live-without-it’ tools, software and platforms that I love and require to make my business work so smoothly.

I get asked too many times what I use for certain parts of biz, so here they are all laid out for ya’ll.

Please note: Some (not all) of these links are affiliate links. If you decide to sign up to any of my suggestions, using these links really helps me out, because I can get perks and sometimes you do too!

So it means a lot if you join through the links below. But please know that I actually do or have used everything below in my business. They aren’t just listed here for the perks. I’m not that kinda pants-on-fire kinda person.

My Membership & Community platform

I use Mighty Networks and am SO glad I did. I praise it non-stop. I’m even in their product beta testing team so I have a say about what I like and get to test fun things that’s how much I love it haha.

I did a LOT of research into memberships and this came out trumps. It’s designed PURELY for community and memberships and the benefits far outweigh any cons. I will always recommend it.

My course/program platform

Kajabi has a LOT of functionality all in one which is why I used it for so long. It’s first perceived as pricey, but it depends how you use it. Initially it saved me a lot of $$ because I didn’t have to pay for so many other things that I usually would have as it’s ‘all in one’.

It includes a website, community, podcast, coaching, courses of course, memberships, email sending, checkout, funnels, like, it has SO MUCH which means you don’t need tons of other subscriptions happening.

Kajabi is awesome as they don’t charge a percentage of the sale in fees like other course platforms do. I remember when I had my first big launch using Kajabi, I realised that if I was using other platforms, they’d have taken 3% of the sale. So I’d have been out of thousands more dollars per year above the cost of the platform. This platform can actually SAVE you money. Kajabi is also very visually pleasing, and it has a user app for people to listen to your programs on the go. If you're after a platform that feels high-level, this is it as well.

I changed to ThriveCart recently, only because I ended up using external software instead of Kajabi's for a few things, as I had complex requirements. It’s no where near as visually pretty or complex or functional, but it suits my needs better now as I don’t use all of the things Kajabi offered anymore. ThriveCart is great too because it’s a one-time payment and you get quite a lot of bang for your buck. I do miss a lot of the elements of Kajabi though - particularly the ease and the design aspects.

THE most important piece of software if you use Funnels

Honestly… Deadline Funnel is the countdown timer functionality of every evergreen course/membership creators dreams

Deadline Funnel gives everyone who joins your funnel, their own unique deadline so that they have a reason to prioritise learning what you have to offer, and see how it can be of value to them.

It literally changes the game in evergreen sales funnels. I couldn't live without it.

How I edit my podcasts, videos, & course trainings

I could not live without this. Descript is honestly the BEST bang for buck software platform I've ever used. I use it literally every day.
It takes out all the difficulty of editing.

Basically you import your audio/video and it transcribes it on the spot.
Using that transcription as if it's a word doc, I can cut, copy, delete words, shorten long breaks, delete mistakes as if it's a simple typo in a word doc. Instead of typical 'video editing' I can just highlight chunks of text, hit delete and it automatically deletes it from the video... perfectly. It's a WILDLY powerful program and I'm so so grateful I have it.

My email marketing platform

I use ConvertKit. I began with Mailchimp many yeas ago, but holy moly it’s limiting, clunky and if you want to use the features that allow it to really work for you, it ends up adding up in price. ConvertKit is my favvvvourite. I can tag people, segment audiences, I have visual workflows that help nurture my audiences depending on what they’re up to. It is SO flexible and I adore it. It integrates with so many platforms, it’s just so valuable to my business.
I recommend it all the time.

My website

I use Squarespace! This page here is on Squarespace. My thoughts on it depend on what functionality you need. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I find it a bit limiting. But it serves my purposes for what I need. If you want to get more advanced with the e-commerce side of things, I’d probably suggest going with Shopify. I’ve been on Squarespace for a few years now as it serves it’s purpose for me.

It’s really easy to use, it is intuitive, I don’t have to worry about hosting or anything else. It’s pretty, clean and that’s exactly why I moved from Wordpress to Squarespace.

How I save time repurposing my content

Repurpose.io is SO GOOD. Essentially, I set up these automations for pieces of content and it automatically repurposes it in other places.

The biggest game changer for me was when I set up a trigger for when I posted a TikTok, it would automatically save it into a Google Drive folder (without the watermark) so that I had a backup of all of my videos to use how I wanted.

I also set up automations to send that TikTok straight through to Pinterest, Instagram, and anywhere else I wanted.

The integrations are SO GOOD, and save so much time downloading, reuploading, etc.

Client calendar scheduling

Acuity Scheduling is my go-to! You’ll see it embedded in my ‘borrow my brain’ sessions, and during my launches, I offer a short 15 min call slots to see if what I offer is right for people. It makes life SO much easier as I don’t have to manually find time slots for people. It sends text message reminders, they get reminder emails, and they can even reschedule without ever messaging you. TIME SAVER! Just the best.

Project management

I LIVE in both Asana and Airtable. I have the apps on my phone, on my desktop. I use Asana for brain dumping ideas, adding screenshots of testimonials, planning my business map and strategy, checking things off my to-do list, It’s where I keep all of my business development, task allocation, team work, and everything in between. I LOVE IT!!

Then I use Airtable to map out and plan things. All of my programs and courses get mapped out in here in detail so it’s really easy to record. I also use it for client notes and content planning as I love the sort of excel layout of it. It makes sense for me for the visual projects.

Design

I live in Canva and HIGHLY recommend upgrading to Canva Pro!
The benefits are vast. I have my own colour pallets, logos ready to go, unlimited use of all the images, gifs and elements, and I use it for ALL of my social media and even website design. I honestly couldn’t live without it and that’s coming from someone who’s very confident in Adobe Photoshop.

Popup Video Chatbot

I use VideoAsk. I thought this was the best idea ever when I discovered it and it works quite well for me. I’m the face of my brand, and building strong relationships with my clients and customers are super important to me. So having my face there talking ready to communicate, and being able to send a video back to people who message me, is really awesome and really personal which is important to my brand. (My link combined with this code also gets you 10% off - 9X2El8Ek (lowercase L)).

Finance management

I invest in the best because finance stresses me out and Xero makes it the easiest. Without a doubt. Just get it. Saves the muck around later.

Internal team communications

I use Slack for internal communications AND external communications with other contractors or companies that I’m working closely with. This minimises the clog of back and forth emails and means I can scroll back at conversations to see what someone said or even use it as a dumping ground for testimonials. I have a Zapier integration with it too that notifies me in there when new members join the club. Major help.

The tool that EVERYONE needs

Zapier. This is my best friend. It’s the biggest time saver of all time. I don’t know how I ever lived without it. It essentially connects two (or more) platforms/pieces of software together so that I don’t have to manually do different tasks. EG: When someone leaves me a Google review, it pulls it into my Asana so that I can organise it and use it as a quote later. It automatically pulls in all of my Instagram posts so that I can repurpose it later for blogs or emails. When someone joins my programs, it has set actions to update their subscription, notify me in Slack so I can welcome them, it tags them in my email platform so they get the right emails etc etc. I swear. Get it.
