Sass Socials Case Study

I’d like to introduce you to Sass from both Sass Socials and Projekt Frankie. She joined Chromatical Club on the 19th of May 2020 and has had an amazing experience since joining. I can’t wait to share her club perspective with you.

Sass Socials is a content planning and creation ⁣business and Projekt Frankie is a handmade jewellery business. Because Sass runs both a service based and product based business, I was super chuffed when she wanted to do this case study. I know her insight into the club from both types of business perspectives will help so many people understand exactly how much value it can offer.

Why did you join Chromatical Club?

You know when you have all the ideas in your head and then all the questions follow and you don't know how to ask or who to ask? This is why I joined Chromatical Club.

Being able to connect with like-minded business creatives and ask questions, provide advice or answers to those also seeking help in a welcoming and supportive online community was what I was looking for.

What did you hope to achieve from joining?

I didn't really have any expectations. I am a part of a number of Facebook business support groups and have never really felt connected, or comfortable in asking questions.

I honestly thought I would "give it a go" for a few months and see what all the fuss was about.

Ha! I guess you could say that my expectations have well and truly been exceeded.

How has Chromatical Club helped you?

The Club has given me a community where I feel comfortable in sharing my experiences.

Everyone is super positive and supportive and Trish is a breath of fresh air - a great mentor. She goes above and beyond to support her members.

Has the club helped you more than you expected?

A big fat yes.

I've learnt so much from Trish, the guest speakers she has invited to the club, and my peers.

Knowing that we are all trying to give the best in our businesses and not afraid to share our experiences, our wins, our learnings.

There's such a willingness from club members to share, and Trish has certainly led the way in sharing so much marketing goodness. I genuinely feel everyone wants to see each other's businesses thrive.

What results have you achieved since joining the club?

  • Gained confidence in running two businesses. Being involved in this community has reduced my doubt and confirmed my capabilities across the business and creative processes.

  • Spent time redefining my social media strategy for Projekt Frankie to dig deep and find out what my audience want, not what I think they want.

  • Engagement for Projekt Frankie increased in August with 194 new followers (106% increase from July) and my reach at 34k, a 5% increase from July.

  • Through participating in an online brand session hosted by Trish and presented by business coach, Ami Summers, I have started to spend time on redefining Projekt Frankie's brand voice and values. This has been incredibly rewarding and with continued support from Ami (yes! I'm now a client) I feel Projekt Frankie has an exciting future.

Do you think you'd be where you are now without the club?

No. Absolutely not. I don't ever want to leave the Club :)

I'm pretty busy running my two businesses and juggling home life but I've started setting aside time in my working week for my professional development and giving back to Club members where I can offer advice and learn more about marketing.

There is so much to learn and it's super exciting to see how the practical tips and advice can positively impact my communities.

How would you put a value on what the club has done for you and your business?

I feel I am getting amazing advice/support/coaching from the Club.

I am a part of another social marketing group on Facebook and it's great but Chromatical Club is so much more than a space for people to ask questions.

Trish shares so much of her marketing expertise and has a genuine interest in helping businesses shine which is priceless.

I am all about community. I want to contribute to community, be part of a community and build a community for each of my businesses where my audiences feel they belong to something bigger than the products I am selling.

The monthly subscription is very accessible. I don't want you to put your prices up Trish ;) but if you did, it would be so justified.

What part of the club has surprised you the most?

How willing club members are to share their experiences.

No-one seems to be secretive or keeping their learnings for themselves. Everyone who contributes is super generous.

Trish, I sound like I'm stalking you through my responses but... super impressed with the amount you give to the club. SO MUCH VALUE added by you.

Who would you recommend the club to?

Anyone who has a desire to start a business or in the thick of running one looking for every day marketing tips and resources, or looking to add something a little extra to their communities' experiences.

There's a real mix of business folk in the Club - coaches, social media consultants, marketing experts, makers, artists. There is definitely something for everyone in the club.

When the Chromatical Club doors open, jump online and run through. You will not be disappointed. So much value, so little money.

What do you love about Chromatical Club?

The Club continues to inspire me every chance I get to log-on.

Not only are there daily chats, there are prerecorded workshops on different topics in brand comms and marketing.

I also love the opportunity to reach out to creatives via message to explore topics further and chat.

I haven't experienced this kind of online business community before.

Lastly, can you tell us a little more about your businesses and where we can find you online?

Sass Socials is a new baby that I started in early 2020.

My love of Instagram started in 2013 where I began styling products for Insta businesses and sharing photos on my account @sass_smith I've met so many wonderful creatives on Instagram, across online stores, influencers, photographers, and artists.

I've also had the opportunity to work in two large businesses, assisting with their social media content, engaging with communities, and coordinating influencers. A friend approached me early in 2020 and asked if I would manage her social media for two of her businesses and I jumped at the opportunity. Seven months in and I am working with the most amazing clients - seriously, they are the best. I just love working with people and helping them discover their communities on social media and I'm also a self-confessed Canva addict.

An opportunity presented itself last year to purchase a handmade jewellery business, Projekt Frankie.

I was a keen follower and customer of Projekt Frankie and along with my passion for colour and design, buying this business was a dream come true. I love creating effortless and unique earrings and accessories for women and kids.

I also love collaborating and have worked with some amazing creatives and have lots more in the works, watch this space!
